Brandx — for business branding

Brand and Strategy

One sentence your whole market can repeat back to you.

A focused sprint that fixes where you stand against the alternatives — and gives you the language to defend it.

The problem this solves

Businesses rarely lose because the product is worse. They lose because the buyer cannot tell the difference, so the decision falls back to price. Positioning is the deliberate choice of what you are for, what you are against, and what you are willing to be worse at — and refusing to make that choice is itself a position, just an unmanaged one.

Who this is for

Businesses in crowded categories where every competitor sounds interchangeable, and companies whose price is under pressure from cheaper alternatives. Also the right first step for anyone about to redesign a brand — a redesign carrying the old position forward just makes the wrong message look newer.

Deliverables

  • Competitive alternative analysis: what buyers do instead of choosing you
  • Positioning statement in a defensible, testable format
  • The trade-off you are accepting, stated explicitly
  • Three-tier message ladder: one line, one paragraph, one page
  • Proof point inventory, with gaps flagged where evidence is missing
  • Rollout note covering which assets need to change first

How we run it

  1. 01

    Alternatives mapping

We map what buyers actually do instead of buying from you — which is frequently 'nothing' or 'handle it internally', not a named competitor. Positioning against the wrong alternative is the most common error we correct.

    You receive

Alternatives map with real substitution behaviour

  2. 02

    Capability and evidence audit

What can you claim and prove today, versus what you would like to claim. Unprovable claims are removed rather than softened.

    You receive

Proof point inventory with evidence gaps flagged

  3. 03

    Positioning workshop

A working session with decision-makers where the trade-off is made explicitly. The session ends with a decision, not a shortlist.

    You receive

    Agreed position and accepted trade-off

  4. 04

    Articulation and ladder

The position written at three lengths so it survives contact with a billboard, a landing page and a sales meeting.

    You receive

Message ladder in English and Nepali

Frequently asked questions

How long does a position last?
Until the market or the business changes materially — typically three to five years. What changes far more often is the expression of it. A position that needs rewriting every year was usually a campaign idea, not a position.
Can positioning work if we are the cheapest option?
Yes, but only if low cost is structural — you have a genuine cost advantage you can sustain. If you are cheapest because you are absorbing margin to win work, that is a pricing decision under pressure, and positioning will not hold it up.
What if we cannot agree on the trade-off?
Then the workshop has done its job by surfacing it. We will not write a position that papers over an unresolved disagreement in leadership — it falls apart the first time someone applies it.
